Somewhat inspired by the art of Florian Nicolle, I decided to have a go in a similar vein, though using vectors instead of mixed media. Very interesting exercise in getting to grips with technique. As greater artists than me have always had it, if you are going to steal, then steal from the best.
I’m not the world’s greatest consumer. If the fashion industry relied on people like me for a living we’d all still be wandering around in mammoth skin boots and draped in the pelts of assorted dead protein. However, every now and again I see a piece of design or art and I know that I just unequivocably want it. I don’t need to intellectualise my feelings; it’s a simple visceral hunger to want to own the object of my desires (in a nod to Adrian Forty). Here is one such vision of wonder. http://www.fastcodesign.com/1663894/3-d-rendering-hundreds-of-rivets-the-weeks-craziest-design-slideshow#2 Somehow, flat forms just don’t seem to cut the mustard any more.
